Report: Alfa Romeo Working On Electric SUV for American Market

Alfa Romeo is not known for its vehicles’ efficiency or environmental consciousness, but the company is heading toward an all-electric future like many others. The automaker’s North American CEO, Larry Dominique, told The Drive that Alfa’s working on an electric SUV for the American market and promised that it would be different from the sea of increasingly homogenous vehicles hitting the market.

Alfa Romeo doesn’t sell anywhere near the number of vehicles that other brands under the Stellantis umbrella do, but the storied Italian automaker appears to have a hit with its new Tonale SUV. The Canadian brochure for these cars does not have the portion about EFI that the US brochures have. A bit of false advertising for sure.I've seen a number of these cars up to 1983 and none of the Canadian market cars had EFI. The US cars had a crank triggered ignition systenm, the Canadian cars had the Duraspark just like the carbed Ford and Mercury Panthers.
